2012-2013 Chapter President's Message

Who wants to win a free trip to New York and shadow the first female and youngest Ernest and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Jennifer Gilbert for a day? Meetings Academy is going to be an extraordinary educational event that you should not miss, and walk-ups are welcome.

Early last month we had an extraordinary special event with Drinks on the Mini Links, which was held at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre. We hosted this event with NACE for the 2nd year in a row and had greater attendance than last year and based on the feedback and all the fun I saw, I would say this was another big success for the year. Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers that made this event the fun “par-tee” it was.
 
On April 17  we had Michael Hahn take us on “A Journey into the Mind of the Ultimate Decision Maker” at the Holiday Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach Hotel. Thank you to the Holiday Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach Hotel for hosting us and serving us such a delicious meal. Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers who helped to make this monthly meeting a big hit.

Meetings Academy is today at the Tampa Convention Center. The educational speakers for the day are Dr. James Hogg, UCF/Rosen College of Hospitality, Deborah Borak, DS, SMMC, Director of Global Accounts at ConferenceDirect and Lenn Millbower, President of Offbeat Training, LLC.  Jennifer Gilbert will be the keynote speaker and I just can’t wait to hear what she has to say. Her book, “I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag” is one of the best books I have ever read. I encourage you all to attend so you can be a part of this awesome opportunity to hear such an inspiring person! I hope this Meetings Academy will add value to you personally, as a professional and to your career and that you will leave empowered with all that you learn.
