Charitable Grant Program 2013

What's your favorite charitable organization? Which organization do you feel needs a grant to continue their good work? Your MPI Tampa Bay chapter will award two $500 grants to two worthy non-profit organizations this spring. Applications and details will be available mid-November.

GUIDELINES: MPI – Tampa Bay Area Chapter Charitable Grant

The maximum charitable grant for each organization shall be $500.

Recommendations for applications may come from any MPI member or from the organization in need. All requesting organizations must submit a written application.

Eligibility is based on non-profit 501(c)3 status and the existence of the agency in the Tampa Bay area (including the Sarasota area) for at least two years.

Applications for funds will be received from November 1, 2012 through March 29, 2013.

Funds must be used within six months of the date the grant is approved or by December 31, 2013 (whichever is earlier). Any remaining grant money not used within the time period must be returned to the MPI Tampa Bay Area Chapter.

The charitable grant committee requires documentation of expenses for grant money from the recipient agencies within six months of the date the grant is approved or by December 31, 2013 (whichever is earlier).

An initial screening of the applications will be done by the charitable grant committee members. All applicants that pass the initial screening will be reviewed and voted on by the MPI Tampa Bay Area Chapter of Board of Directors.

Requests for funding the following will not be considered:
• An Individual’s project
• Religious teachings or instruction
• Travel expenses
• Capital campaigns
• Political campaigns
• Salaries
• Insurance
• Fundraising
• Tuition/Scholarships
• Government agencies and non-profit groups whose primary purpose is to fund government
• Any agency’s program receiving money from the Charitable Grant Program cannot reapply for two years from the date of the application. Any agency program not approved may reapply at any time.
